鲁比·沃森（Rubie S.Watson，又名华如璧），美国加州大学伯克利校区人类学系本科毕业，1982年获英国伦敦经济学院 (LSE) 人类学博士学位。 鲁比·沃森是美国人文与科学学院院士。她曾任哈佛大学人类学系考古学和民族学博物馆(PEABODY MUSEUM)馆长,也是哈佛人类学博物馆历史上首任女性馆长。 <<兄弟并不平等 >>一书是其代表作，她还曾编撰一系列以东亚女性地位、家族变迁与政治经济转型为主题的专著。同时，在人类学及亚洲研究的权威刊物上发表过产生重大影响的论文。她是哈佛大学人类学系在女性研究领域作品被引用次数最多的一位专家。
